Although this hasn't been officialy confirmed by either the Hawks nor the EIHA, it is widely believed that the teams management are not interested in stepping up a league for this coming season, prefering to stick to ED1 for another year at least, to get the youngsters used to the senior game before any alternate league commitments are made.
The Hawks are likely to be joined by all of last seasons ED1 opponents and should also be taking part in the Border League competition again to bolster the number of fixtures for the season.
We may also have the Anglo-Welsh cup to look forward to, which the Hawks won last season by an aggregate of 10-7 over a two legged game with the Flintshire Freeze. The North West Challenge Cup, now an established annual event between Blackburn and Altringham should also be staged over two legs around the start of the new year. Last season the Hawks were run away victors in this competition after a 2 legged aggragate score of 17-5 of the Aces.
And no doubt we will have several challenge matches to look forward to over the season, including the popular matches from last season against the Canadian Navy, who are due to take on Hull in a challenge game at the end of August.
