The Eye of the Hawks Hall of Fame was first conceived in late 1997, just after the birth of Eye of the Hawks. To celebrate it's birth three players were allowed into the exclusive Blackburn Hawks Hall. Since then only one player per season has been able to win the right to Hall of Fame status. The Hall of Fame has proved to be one of the most popular features in Eye of the Hawks, adn the number of votes is steadily increasing year on year. The best thing about the Hall of Fame is that is open to anybody. You don't need to be over 18 to vote, you can be related to a player, you can even vote for yourself if you are a player! This season voting will begin at the start of January and run through to March when the votes wil be counted up and the winner announced in time for the end of the season. In 1999, Eye of the Hawks readers voted for James Beale to be that player. His strong defensive qualities and goal scoring skills proved to be too strong a match for any of the other players that season, or indeed any other season in the teams short nine year history. For the 1999 - 2000 season, the vote was so close we had to count it three times to make sure! A record number of votes were recived and when the polls closed the deserving winner was announced to the world exclusively on Eye of the Hawks. Enter the Hall of Fame gallery now to read about Robbie Smiths achivements and the comments from a selection of voters. You will also see the other entrants in the Hall of Fame since 1997. |
