Get Your Wings: The Editors View

Editorial #5, February 2001

Mill Hill flats have just been blown up, Church Street is being closed, the Railway Station re-built, and of course there's a new retail park across from the Arena.

A lot has changed in Blackburn over the last ten years. The Hawks have changed their name three times, (Blackburn Blackhawks, Lancashire Hawks and Blackburn Hawks) and have played in many different leagues.

We are now nearing the end of this tenth anniversary season, the play-off's are only a few weeks away and at the moment we still have the chance to secure second place in the league.

Not forgetting one special night at the end of the season, 3rd April, when Blackburn Arena will host a special game celebrating ten years of hockey. The two teams of 25 will be composed of current and ex-Hawks stars and will be lead by Bobby Haig and Steve Moria.

Make sure to get all your friend's down to the arena for this extra special event.

As for this website, there's a new interview on with Craig Sharman, thanks go to Abigail Smith for completing the interview, the Hall of Fame contest will begin in a few days time, so get your thinking caps on and decide who's been your favourite Hawk this season..

And finally, we are already working on a great new look for next season with some possible graphics being produced at the moment. If you have any ideas on what should be included, or want to help out by contributing to the site in some way, either as a one off or regularly, then email us, the address is at the bottom of the page.

See you at the game!

Tony.
