Danny's fondest memories from Telford Tigers were when they won the English Championship and he didn't forget to mention when he scored against the Sheffield Steelers, this he said very proudly.
Danny was faced with a difficult decision when an opportunity to go to Lancashire Hawks came up. Dan both stayed at Telford with his family and friends and doesn't get the ice time, or goes to a town where he knows nobody and gets the ice time he wants. Well we all know what decision he made. Danny met the deadline in 1998 and signed for the Lancashire Hawks.
Dan's hobbies are playing field hockey, football and cricket mainly and most other sports. Besides sports his hobbies also include sleeping and socialising and listening to music. He likes listening to dance music and he thinks that Steps are really cool and I'm pretty sure you will have seen him dancing to Shania Twain on good matches (Bradford Bulldogs). The three words that describe him best were honest, reliable and cheeky.
All Burnley fans will be glad to know Danny still supports them too. Danny saw his first match when he was seven and has supported them since, Burnley is also the hometown of Danny's dad. Danny's idol is Rick Brebant (Manchester Storm). Hwen asked who he would most like to swap places with he said Peter Forsberg, Bill Gates (who doesn't) and also his idol Rick Brebant. Danny's insiration was his grandfather, Wayne Gretzky and of course Rick Brebant. When I asked Danny did he have any good and bad memories of hockey and parties he said his good memory of hockey was winning a European Medal, his bad memory was when they got relegated the year after. When he tried to decide about parties he couldn't remember any memories!
I asked Danny to describe his first season as captain, he believed it to be an honour as he was only brought to Blackburn to score goals. He did say he was "disappointed that they weren't higher in the tables". Danny's ambitions are to play at the best level he can for as long as he can.
A message for all of Danny's female fans, his views on getting married haven't changed much, he still doesn't want to get married, sorry girls!!!!
Danny's messages for his fans are to keep cheering!! He also said to "be patient with the team, they've only got to improve. The fans are very good and friendly and are very supportive". Danny then added, "the lads are working hard to make the playoffs, we owe it to the supporters and ourselves". He also added, "I want Burnley to get promoted".
Hopefully we'll see Danny wearing the 'C' on his shirt for another season. I would like to say thanks for giving up his valuable drinking time and good luck in the future.
